This WallPaper can lock your Android smartphone

The world of technology in recent years has given us real pearls in the Android smartphone sector, but with the increase in features we have also witnessed the increase of often unexplained bugs.

It is really inexplicable that a simple WallPaper can send several smartphones in bulk, in particular those of the Samsung brand, but also LG and Honor. In reality there is no particular brand or specific model to be plagued by this bug, which to date has not yet a direct cause nor an explanation.

This WallPaper can lock your Android smartphone

As we can see from the post appeared on Twitter by the serial leaker Ice Universe, the image looks like a trivial background, which once downloaded to your smartphone and set as a background, sends the device in a loop. The leaker also invites users not to try, indeed invites to delete the image if someone has sent the image with our smartphone via social media, chat ect ..

The problem generated does not seem to be resolved with a restart of the smartphone, therefore, since it is not possible to modify the WallPaper, the only solution remains that of restoring the factory settings of your smartphone which will lead to data loss. Below you can see a video on the bad experience lived on a Google Pixel 2, confirming that other smartphones and brands are also victims of this background.

However, someone has tried the same, despite the recommendations, to use this background, reporting that this does not affect Huawei and OnePlus smartphones, but Ice Universe has also discovered a curious aspect of this bug.

When the leaker uploaded the original image to the Weibo social network, he found that the color was being changed (right). At that point, the new image was found to be harmless, but when uploaded to Twitter, the original image does not change color and remains harmful. So the suspicion is that the bug may be related to the color gamut.

In other words, Weibo has processed the photos and removed the harmful metadata. But Twitter's mechanism for processing photos differs from Weibo, keeping faith with the original metadata.

For now, Google has not expressed itself on the issue but in any case we advise you to be careful and not to use this image as a background, also because you find beautiful ones on the net without having to rely on this which in my opinion has poco of exciting.
