Ticwatch S2 review

First contact

Probably seeing it black this Ticwatch S2 would make it look more compact rather than in white like the one I have on my wrist, but it is beautiful above all for the shape of the bezel on the dial and for the texture of the strap.

Technical details

The second generation of this smartwatch makes an upgrande hardware: it abandons the Soc of the Mediatek house in favor of the more noble Snapdragon Wear by Qualcomm, more performing and less energy-intensive; unchanged compared to the previous model the memory cuts: 512MB of RAM and 4GB storage and display AMOLED from 1,39 " with resolution 400 × 400 px. The wireless sector is also in continuity with the past, with Bluetooth 4.1 e wi-fi b / g / n. But the news is not over! 415mAh of battery that allowed me to use it for two whole days and the particular resistance to environmental conditions: thanks to the certification MIL-STD-810 this Ticwatch S2 is particularly resistant to shocks and dust, for use between -20 ° and 55 ° and in water at 5ATM.

Software

As is usual in Mobvoi home devices, the operating system adopted is the Wear OS by Google always extremely smooth and convincing with a set of very interesting home apps. The big news presented on this device is TicMotion with an advanced algorithm for monitoring activities in an increasingly precise way and above all with the possibility of tracking swimming sessions.

Experience of use

Beautiful to look at and comfortable to wear, thanks to the 22mm strap by far the softest and most elastic I've ever worn. All activities are tracked reliably and on time and without missing a notification.

Conclusions

Although the design lends itself to all uses, it is clear that this Ticwatch S2 was born for sportsmen. It is not only the look that makes it so sectorial but also all the new functions able to make it an infallible tool for athletes of all sports, even in water or those exposed to the most extreme environmental conditions.
