TSMC has problems with 3nm chips and Intel is jumping for joy

TSMC is the largest chip and microchip foundry in the world. His are the processors of many products starting from smartphones. Apparently, however, the Taiwanese giant is encountering many problems in the production at 3 nm. This could cause a further slowdown in the delivery of products, in addition to that caused by the chip crisis. Let's go see the reason of this slowdown and why companies like Intel could benefit from this situation.

TSMC is commissioned by numerous companies to produce 3nm processors, however it is running into problems. Will Intel benefit from the situation?

TSMC is having problems developing the 3 nm processors. Although the same contract manufacturer has recently announced that mass production will begin in the second quarter of 2022, second unofficial information, the yield rate is too low for mass production. AMD is one of the largest customers company and perhaps the most loyal (when it comes to PC hardware). Intel has its own production and is looking to actively compete with TSMC. Nvdia has worked with Samsung in the past, but turned to the Taiwanese giant with orders for a 5nm GPU.

In this context, TSMC remains the largest contract manufacturer in the world, and it is understandable that it is silent any delays, unless they become inevitable and obvious. The company has already unveiled a 3nm process variant called N3E, which will be an energy optimized version of the N3 process.

But returning to the heart of the matter, Intel will launch its 4nm process technology in the second quarter of 2022. According to the source, it could benefit from TSMC's delay. This delay will be particularly useful in the face of a deteriorating geopolitical situation and data subsidies multimillionaires which Intel is likely to receive in the US. If TSMC really stumbles, AMD and Nvidia will be forced to switch to Intel N4 process
