live showed his smart glass back in 2019 on the occasion of the MWC of Shanghai. From that moment on, however, of the product AR he has never heard of it again. today, two years later, we have found evidence on the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) that the company has in mind to produce another type of smart glasses. So let's go and see the vivo "second generation" smart glasses.
vivo does not abandon the idea of smart glasses: slimmer and less heavy smart glasses, a bit like those of Xiaomi. You like them?
Before seeing the AR smart glasses by vivo, we remember that Xiaomi presented its Smart Glass with MicroLED technology. This is a really compelling product that, unfortunately, we will not see in the short term in Europe. But that's not the point. The important thing is to understand that the various companies, including Oppo, are traveling in this direction. As well as Google. In short, the smart glasses could be the future. Having said that, let's see the patent of vivo's smart glasses.
The patent in question is the number CN306856499S and it was presented last June, to be accepted only yesterday. As we can see from the images of the sketch, the glasses show up a lot more "slender" than the previous one model shown two years ago. However, it can be seen that there is some sort of second screen (first and last photo) in correspondence of the left lens (seeing it from the front). This second screen is probably used to see the data that, instead on Xiaomi Smart Glass, we see directly on the glass.
Vivo's “second generation” smart glasses do not have a release date for the moment nor an introductory price. It is in fact only a patent for now.
