vivo X Fold: official the first foldable with Zeiss optics

In terms of design, the X Fold is similar to previous vivo devices, with a circular camera module inside a rectangular base, in which we also notice the presence of the Zeiss logo. As for the colors, however, the smartphone comes in two colors blue and gray. The dimensions of the device include a thickness of 14,91 mm when closed, while the thickness in open mode is 7,4 mm; the weight is instead of 310,86 grams.

As for the curvature fold, the X Fold adopts a variety of technologies for optimization and designs an integrated floating center plate made of zirconium alloy, which will rise or fall when the phone is opened and closed, causing the screen is flatter.

It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the collaboration of the camera optics with Zeiss, the display cover material of the vivo X Fold also comes from the German group SCHOTT (SCHOTT) under the Carl Zeiss Foundation.

In particular, the internal display is made of SCHOTT UTG ultra-thin flexible glass. The specially treated flexible glass is resistant to bending, and the number of bending times can reach at least 300.000 times. The outer screen uses Schottky α cover glass, which is a new type of lithium aluminum borosilicate glass (LABS). Compared to traditional LAS glass, the fall performance is improved by 100%, especially on rough surfaces. On the surface, the performance is better.

Also, the camera cover glass of vivo X Fold comes from SCHOTT Xianxuan Up. glass, which protects the Zeiss camera to face more challenges in daily use.

As for the display specifications, the external one is a 6,53-inch micro-curved screen with a resolution of 2520 × 1080. The internal screen is a large 8-inch panel with a resolution of 2160 × 1916, it is one of the largest internal screens in the industry, equivalent to the viewing area of a tablet.

The dual internal and external screens of the phone use Samsung's latest E5 material, with diamond arrangement, support a high refresh rate of 120Hz, and the internal screen also supports LTPO adaptive update, beating DislayMate 19 records with a A + level assessment.

More importantly, the vivo X Fold does not use side fingerprints, but adopts the world's first 3D ultrasonic dual screen sensor, i.e. the internal and external screens each support 3D ultrasonic fingerprint technology. The screen can be unlocked quickly even with wet hands and bright light, which is safer.

In terms of performance, the X Fold has been completely upgraded to the highest level in the industry. The processor is a customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. Compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 888, CPU performance increased by 10%, and GPU performance by 30%.

In other respects, the phone is also equipped with an improved version of LPDDR-6400 memory and an overclocked version of UFS 3.1 flash memory and supports Content Fusion 2.0 technology.

In terms of battery, the vivo X Fold uses a 4600mAh battery, supports 66W wired flash charging, the first 50W wireless flash charging on a foldable, and 10W reverse charging.

As for photography, the smartphone has a 16 megapixel front lens and a Zeiss quad-camera system in the back, consisting of a 50 MP 1 / 1,5 ″ main camera + 48 MP ultra wide-angle lens + 2x telephoto lens. 12 MP + 5 MP 8x full-focus.

Finally, for pricing, the 12 + 256GB version is priced at 8999 yuan (1300 euros) and the 12 + 512GB version is priced at 9999 yuan (1400 euros).
