After goodbye to YouTube Go that many of us used as lighter, Google is considering changing the functionality of the core platform. Recently, the video streaming and entertainment behemoth has timed reactions released. Today, according to what we learn from The Verge, another very interesting option is being released. It is a feature that makes us go straight to the highlight of a video. Let's see how it works.
YouTube Premium users have the ability to jump to the highlight of each video with a new feature. Here's how you can do it
Sometimes there isn't enough time to watch a long video and rewinding it in search of the right content is annoying. YouTube developers have set out to solve this problem with the help of a new mechanism - the branded player preselect the parts of the video that other users have watched most oftenor. In the photo below we see briefly how it works.
The feature will be available in test mode for YouTube Premium subscribers in a few days. When manually rewinding the video, a graph will appear above the timeline, showing the number of views of different sections of the recording. The peak values will indicate i most popular video segments: This will help us jump to the most interesting or significant part of the video immediately.
Another novelty that YouTube will launch will be an improved rewind mechanism that show screenshots of the video in the current segment along with a timestamp. The company has yet to disclose whether both new features will be publicly available after the global launch or will remain exclusive to the Premium version streaming service.
