Not just smartphones: ZTE addresses the electric car market

Until today ZTE has ventured into the production of smartphones. The last ones we saw made a lot of talk about themselves. These are in fact mobile devices equipped with camera under the display. Basically no holes, no notches, no pop-up mechanism for the camera. A sensor hidden under the glass that only thanks to the light can take pictures. But if the company also entered the automotive market? This is what it confirms Reuters in a recent report. Let's go see the details.

After Xiaomi's intention (perhaps), ZTE also plans to enter the electric car market: is this really the future?

A few years ago Xiaomi had feared the same intention and just a few weeks ago it has released an official statement that does not disavow this will, but neither does it confirm it. Deep down, we know that Lei Jun's (Xiaomi CEO) eyes are focused on that market. Apparently the same thing is happening to too ZTE. Second Reuters, telecommunications equipment manufacturer will create a team that will be responsible for manufacturing its own electric vehicles.

So far, the representatives of ZTE have not wanted to share the details. In particular, it is not known whether the company will produce independently vehicles with its own brand, will license the development of the alleged vehicle or supply only components. What is certain is that this is a movement that many companies are making.

According to analysts, in the 2021 electric vehicle sales in China will reach 1.8 million units. By comparison, around 2020 million electric vehicles were sold in 1.3. Companies poised to enter the electric vehicle market also include the Chinese giant Baidu and the drone manufacturer DJI, which develops software for self-driving cars.

Let's wait official news from the brand that, in our opinion, will not be long in publishing.
